• Eating a heart-healthy diet with less salt
• Getting regular physical activity
• Maintaining a healthy weight or losing weight if you’re overweight or obese
• Limiting the amount of alcohol, you take in.

Many people ignore certain signs that can lead to becoming hypertensive until it gets to the peril stage of condition. One must be vigilant with regards to his or her health and lifestyle. If you notice your blood pressure is extremely high, there may be certain symptoms to look out for, including:
• Severe headaches
• Fatigue or confusion
• Sight problems
• Chest pains
• Difficulty in breathing
• Irregular heartbeat
• Blood in urine
• Pounding in your chest, neck, or ears
